The Legendary

Bunna Lawrie

Will be performing with his son Jason Lee Scott at the Nyamat Yakeen Karween and at the Portland Upwelling Festival on the 31st October and the 1st of November

Skate Park Stage at 1pm

Uncle Bunna Lawrie needs no introduction, but we will anyway. Front man for the indomitable Coloured Stone, his legend has spanned countries and nations. His sound is reggae rock, with lyrics that hold a deeper message that run deep into your bones. 

A Whale Man, an Elder, an Activist and a consummate performer, don't miss seeing him in the intimate setting on the banks of the Canal at tHe Nyamat Yarkeen Karween, or get your best dancing shoes ready at the Skate park Stage on Saturday.

We are finally ready to tell you who we have booked so far!

The Portland Upwelling Festival is proud to continue our aim of nurturing and showcasing local new and emerging talent across the Lawn and Skatepark stages. 

We are so thrilled to finally have Leah Brewster was born and raised on Gunditjmara Country; a singer-songwriter delivering a powerful blend of soulful vocals and heartfelt storytelling.

Raised on blues and soul, her influence comes through in her rich, moving vocals—inviting audiences into moments of connection and uplift. 12pm Skate Park Stage
The Fairywrens

The fairywrens

The Fairywrens are back!  
This time delivering a full set of original music through the sweet sounds of the flute, piano, guitar and the intertwining harmonies of three best friends. 

4pm Lawn Stage


 

The Flying Flamingoes are an incredible acrobatic act, a big crowd favourite at The Upwelling Festival. 

Performances throughout the day. 

Brendan Skinner is stepping up last minute to fill in for Osmosis, and we can't wait to hear his solo set.  

3pm Skatepark Stage

Gunditjmara man Jayden Lillyst's voice is what dreams are made of- strong yet so light on the soul. 

12pm Lawn Stage

Concrete 5 pieces of pure alt/grunge/rock from South West Victoria. They are covering high octane bangers in hopes for a good time.

2pm Skatepark Stage

Osmosis

Think high energy rock covers, energetic performances and a setlist of all the rock you know and love. These young locals have impressed everyone who has witnessed them, and we are proud they said yes to an Upwelling debut.  

3pm Skatepark Stage

Mixed Tape Trio

This dreamy trio of gorgeous good energy always bring the goods, and we are thrilled they could fit us into their busy schedule again this year. 

1pm Lawn Stage

Portland Irish Group

Playing at the MACS Hotel since 1998, the Portland Irish Group celebrate their Celtic Heritage in the best possible way- with mandolins, violins, piano accordion, whistles, guitars, ukuleles and of course, their incredible voices. 

11am Lawn Stage

The Southern Ocean Sea Band

With original songs, including one inspired by The Bonney Upwelling, the Southern Ocean Sea Band's soaring harmonies and incredible musicianship, skilfully taking the audience on local journeys from the past. Their 10-strong band are a sight to behold. 

2pm Lawn Stage

did somebody say let's dance?

This year we have asked the Portland Coastal Line Dancing group to perform, and they want you to join in! With several Sea Shanty's and finishing with the Nutbush- gid on down to party. 

Danz X-Tensions return with another electrifying display- both groups are showing off their talents at the Skatepark Stage from 11am

The tin shed singers

Hailing from Warrnambool, this group of Sheddies 'sing, eat, drink and occasionally go public' and we are stoked to have them back again this year, finally on a stage!

They are also holding a Sea Shanty Workshop, where everyone can join in.
